About Therapist

Originally from Glasgow, I studied Linguistics at Glasgow University until 1996, when I graduated with Honours. I then moved to Sheffield to train as a Speech and Language Therapist at Sheffield University.

I moved back to Scotland following graduation from Sheffield, and worked as a Speech and Language Therapist for two NHS trusts until 2004.

In 2004, I left the NHS to concentrate on the demands of having a young family! Prior to this, I had been approached by an increasing number of private clients as a result of word of mouth referrals. Over the last three years, I have built on my reputation and now run a thriving private practice.

I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and I am registered with the Health Professions Council. I regularly undertake additional training and professional development activities to ensure my clients receive the up-to-date, quality service which they deserve.

My private Speech and Language Therapy practice includes clients from Glasgow, Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, and Dumfries and Galloway. I have also provided assessments and occasionally therapy to clients from other areas.

I find private practice immensely satisfying for a number of reasons. Frequent contact with clients, usually in their own homes, means excellent relationships are established and I enjoy a good rapport with my clients and their families.

Providing clients with the input they need means progress is quickly apparent.

Practising privately also means I have the flexibility to offer clients therapy outwith normal working hours, if required.

It is quite common for concerned parents or voice clients to phone or e-mail me with questions. I am more than happy to answer questions or help put someone's mind at rest - and enquiries are free! So please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Speech and Language Therapy or my practice.
